At Prometheus Foundry, you build the assessment skills, hands-on ability, communication, and clinical judgment needed to begin functioning as part of an EMS team.

FROM CLASSROOM
TO THE AMBULANCE.

You will move from core EMT knowledge into hands-on skills, clinical experience, and field training before you complete the program.

Build the medical knowledge and assessment foundation every EMT needs.

02 - SKILLS LAB

Practice airway management, patient movement, trauma care, splinting, and other core EMT skills.

03 - HOSPITAL / ER

Work around real patients and see how assessment, communication, and treatment come together.

04 - FIELD EXPERIENCE

Ride with EMS crews and experience the pace, teamwork, and responsibility of prehospital care.

05 - NREMT PREPARATION

Finish with focused preparation for the National Registry EMT examination.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are the answers to some of the most common questions about starting EMT training with Prometheus Foundry.

No. The EMT Basic program is designed for students entering EMS for the first time. You do not need previous EMS or healthcare experience to begin the program.

The program runs approximately 16 weeks, with classroom and skills training on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6 PM to 9 PM, plus required clinical and ambulance field experiences.

The $1,500 tuition is designed as an all-inclusive program cost. It includes educational resources, skills labs, student equipment, uniform items, AHA BLS Provider certification, screening requirements, clinical insurance, clinical and field experiences, and NREMT preparation.

Yes. Students complete 12 hours of Emergency Department clinical experience and 84 hours of ambulance field experience. These experiences are part of the EMT program requirements and give you an opportunity to apply classroom and lab skills in real patient-care environments.

No. Successful completion of the program makes you eligible to continue the certification process. You must complete the applicable National Registry requirements and meet Texas Department of State Health Services requirements before you can receive Texas EMT certification.

After successful course completion, you can move forward with the National Registry EMT certification process and your Texas EMT certification application. Your instructors will also help you understand the next steps so you know what needs to happen after graduation.
